Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teases his DC movie role! All but confirms the character identity. [video]

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been teasing fans about a possible DC movie role for some time but it seems like he may have just let the cat out of the bag. The big question all this time has been who would he be? Many speculated it could be Black Adam, Shazam or even Lobo. After Johnson expressed interest in playing Green Lantern John Stewart fans backed up that theory.

Although it has not been confirmed, it looks like Dwayne Johnson may have teased us enough in a recent interview with Total Film that we may know the answer. Below you can read a transcript of an interview where Johnson answers the question about what character he would like to play. At the bottom of this article you can watch the video where he answers this question.
"There's a character out there that we're going to announce very soon that I'm gonna play. I'll just say this, it's the power of Superman. And it's not Green Lantern, by the way. Believe me, John Stewart, he was a character who I wanted to play but there was already a version of Green Lantern and so now we've gone in a different direction. But this character has the power of Superman, he can throw down. Just say the word. That's all I'm gonna say."
The fact that he leaves off with, "Just say the word," makes it seem like he is trying to tell us that the word is "Shazam" and that is who is will be playing. He certainly has the build for the character. As comic fans will know this is a character who is a young boy but by saying the word "Shazam" he is transformed into a strong superhero. Shazam was also on the list of film that are tentatively coming out for Warner Bros. and DC. So this is extremely plausible. What do you think? Would you like to see Dwayne Johnson star in the Shazam film?

  1. I think he's going to be Martian Manhunter. Just picture him all green. He's the spitting image of J'onn J'onzz.

    1. I could actually see him as a great Martian Manhunter. Good point. I just can't get over that "Say the word." comment that has to be connected to Shazam. Hmm...
