Stormtrooper helmet designs for Star Wars Episode VII are revealed!

Images have been found that show off the new look for stormtroopers in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. It appears as though more than just the X-Wing was inspired by the concept art of Ralph McQuarrie for the upcoming film and that is not a bad thing.

The first image shown is the standard stormtrooper helmet that feels like its had a natural evolution. I really like the clean and sleek look of this helmet a lot and there are a few differences to the older helmets. The eye lenses are separate like they were in the original films although they look like they may be a little larger. A black frame around the lenses give it a look of a single lens. In this photo we see a breather vent on the left side but there is no breather vent on the right side of the helmet. The black mouth area near the bottom is a mesh material, most likely so that the actors can breath easily while wearing the helmet.

The second photo is a helmet for a trooper currently being referred to as the "Jungle Trooper"  due to the design being seen in a scene that takes place at the tree house set and around various Puzzlewood exteriors. Some have pointed out however that this design also looks similar to the Snowtrooper helmet and there is a possibility that it could be used for that as well.

The final picture is the evolution of the standard Stormtooper helmet from Episode I through to Episode VII.

Do you like the new designs for the helmets? Are you excited to see that the Stormtroopers will be making a return?
