The Deadpool film is officially happening! Fox announces release date!

Rumors for the Deadpool film have been in abundance for quite some time but it seems that Fox has decided to put all those rumors to rest.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Deadpool film is officially happening! Fox officially announced today that the film Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12, 2016! Director Tim Miller is set to direct the film and although nothing is on paper for actor Ryan Reynolds just yet it seems like it's only a matter of time before he signs on.

A few weeks ago test footage leaked for the film that sparked a hugely positive fan reaction. Ryan Reynolds wore a motion capture suit for the test footage and was pleasantly surprised at how positive fans took to it. In an interview he stated,
"The movie has been in a state of limbo for a while. There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, 'Oh, so we weren't crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.' It's interesting to see the power of the Internet. It's awe-inspiring, actually," the actor told the Niagara Falls Review. "And it's neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way."
Now that a date has been set it looks like Fox has faith in the film and it is actually going to happen. Are you excited to see the merc with a mouth, aka Deadpool, hit the big screen?
