Hugh Jackman confirms that Wolverine 3 will be his last film as Wolverine.

When actor Hugh Jackman took the role as Wolverine in the film X-Men in 2000 there was no way for him or anyone to know that he would be still playing the role for over 15 years. However, here we are and fans absolutely love the character that Jackman has built on screen.

There has been a lot of back and forth on whether Hugh Jackman would be stepping away from the character soon but it seems that he has officially ended the debate. While appearing on the Dr. Oz Show, Jackman confirmed that the 2017 film "Wolverine 3" will be his last.
"“This will be my last one,” Jackman said, point blank, when asked about it on the Dr. Oz show earlier today.
“It is my last time,” he continued. “It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.
“I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”"
As a fan you cannot complain that Jackman is walking away. By the time "Wolverine 3" hits theaters he will have been working on the same character for at least 18 years. That is a lot of dedication and commitment to one character and he has done an amazing job. There is no story tied to "Wolverine 3" yet but there have been some rumors that it may concentrate on the "Old Man Logan" storyline which would be extremely fitting for Hugh Jackman's exit of the character.

Wolverine 3 is set to be in theaters on March 3, 2017.
