The Flash season 2 will introduce more speedsters and a surprising character returns as a show regular!

The season finale of The Flash was filled with twists and turns and all the DC Easter eggs that a fan could ask for. It certainly raised the bar for all other super hero shows in terms of how a finale should look.

*Possible spoilers ahead for the Season 1 finale.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, The Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed two very interesting things about the show's second season. The season 1 finale saw the character Harrison Wells, played by Tom Cavenagh, turn into the real Reverse Flash, Eobard Thawne, before he was defeated. When asked what that meant for Tom Cavanagh's future with the show Kreisberg responded:

"Tom Cavanagh will be back. That is not in question. Tom Cavanagh will continue to be a regular."
In regards to more "speedsters" appearing in the next season Kreisberg stated:
"Yeah. We are going to introduce a few more speedsters next year and a bunch more villains. How they and those villains come about is part of the surprise of season two. We're really excited. [Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and myself and [executive producer] Geoff Johns and the writers, the cast, the crew, the directors — we are so proud of this season of television. It really is a high mark for all of us, and we feel a great deal of pressure and anxiety to live up to it because it's been so well received. As proud as excited as we are about everything we've done this year, we really are just as proud and excited for all the things we are planning coming up. Hopefully people will continue to take this ride with us."
This is all very exciting news and as the Flash universe continues to open up we know that more surprises and Easter eggs will be thrown at fans. Are you excited about the direction that the show is taking? Are you ready for Season 2?
